Ans. Gillu was fond of the narrator. He used to eat always in her plate. He did not like food in her absence. When the narrator was out of home during her indisposition, Gillu did not take food, it means he was sorry of the indisposition of the narrator.
When she was injured in a motor car accident she had w spend some days in a hospital. Though kaju was Gillu’s favourite food, he wouldn’t Kaju offered to him by others. He behavior shows that he was so deeply attached to the narrator that he felt sad during her absence.

Ans. Yes, I have a pet dog. The dog loves me as much as I love him. He takes dinner with me. He waits for me and takes meals only when I am ready. We eat together at a place. He waits for my arrival, even if he is hungry. This is the way it shows concern for me.

Ans. The transformation from the common to the proper noun implies a particular name given in place of a common name. Gilhari is the common name for all the squirrels which was changed to a particular name ‘Gillu’, for that squirrel. A name makes difference between the two individuals.

Ans. Gillu was a tiny baby squirrel. One day, he fell down from a nest near a flowerpot on the verandah of Mahadevi Verma. Two crows saw him. He sustained wounds when they poked their beaks at him.

Ans. At the death of Gillu the narrator felt very sad. He was very dear to her. She was highly aggrieved by his death. She was emotionally related with him. So, she felt that when the Sonjuhi creeper would start flowering in spring season, Gillu will be seen on the creeper in the form of yellow Juhi flower. It was her belief that some day she will find him flowering and blossoming in the outward form of a tiny yellow Juhi flower.
Q. 13. In what condition did the narrator find Gilla? What did she do with it? What would you do in a similar situation?
Ans. The narrator found Gillu in a wounded situation when two crows had assaulted it with their beaks and were ready to kill it. It was lying motionless hidden in the gap at the junction of the flowerpot and the wall.
The narrator gently lifted Gillu up and brought to her room. She nursed her wounds and gave milk and water as food. She also applied penicillin ointment to its wounds. Further, she kept it as a pet 1 would also do the same thing what the narrator did.

Ans. Yes, Gillu was in a miserable condition when the author found him.
