But, such a pacy life is not suitable to everybody. According to the merchant’s view grown up people are quite unable to stride with such a pacy life.

Ans. Our ancestors or some other tribes might be slow thinkers. The slow thinkers cannot compete the race of today’s pacy life. They cannot get even their livelihood. They are guaranteed to get the lowest marks in any intelligence test today because all the tests are designed to measure the speed of our mind, more than anything else.

Ans. Today, we have the excitement of fast going life. We can enjoy different experiences and pleasure in a short time today. Our ancestors had no excitement in their life, they were contented with what they had already with them. They did not aspire for a pacy or fancy life, or for getting something more and more.
The excitement, we feel today, is the need of time but ultimately it is harmful for man in the long run. So it is a disadvantage.

Ans. The writer, as given in the lesson, seeks enlightement for the scenes and characters in the film. He is watching a film with his wife but he is unable to understand the scenes and the characters in the film. So, after every two or three minutes, he turns towards his wife and asks her to enlighten the matter.
Such a man, as the writer is, today, is considered to be handicapped in the business of getting a living. Such a man cannot succeed in getting his living.

Ans. The central idea or theme of the essay, “The Pace for Living’ is the nature of life today, which is moving fast and a person who is not fast in thinking and doing work cannot get his living today. The life is changing very fast. In such a pacy life if a man cannot think and act quickly, he will lag behind and will not get his livelihood. So, it is the lesson of this title that to succeed in life today man has to stride according to the pace for living.
