Ans. The most dominant influence on Indian films is the passing phase of the American cinema. The stories have been written based on Hollywood successes and the cliches preserved with care. Where the stories have been Indian, there, too, the background music has an irresponsible trend for the jazz idiom.
The average American film is a bad model for Indian films. So, the blind imitation of Hollywood films hasn’t been good for Indian films.

Ans. Indian films imitate stories, sometimes technology, etc. Cliches are also preserved with care. Jazz idioms are also imitated.
Imitation is not justified. Indian films should adopt the aspect of Indian life and culture, speech, dress and manners, background and foreground blend into harmonious whole.

Ans. Lack of maturity can be attributed to several factors. The producers will tell you about the mysterious entity ‘the mass’, which goes in for this sort of ‘thing’, the technicians will blame the tools and the director will have much to say about the wonderful things he had in mind but could not achieve because of ‘the conditions’.

Ans. Today Indian films have lost their basicity. They are not produced originally. They are all mostly the copies of one another. They even copy the style and scenery of the another films. They all have lost their Indian idioms.
I have seen a film named ‘Don’. The film has no thought to be considered. There are two films naming the same. Each one has taken the copy of another films. Perhaps they carry the scenes of some other films. I have seen such several films that are worst in their shows.
Thus, it can be said that Indian films have basic weaknesses in them.
Q. 10. What is the most important need of today’s Indian Cinema?
Ans. The most important need of today’s Indian Cinema is analogy and music.
